From summary of a link sent by a (suitably mischievous) Boston buddy:
"Hayden Panettiere got a new tattoo in Italian, spies Perez Hilton. Unfortunately for her, a word is misspelled. The saying "vivere senza rimipianti," which scrolls down the side of her body, supposedly means "to live without regret" -- but the correct spelling should be rimpianti, with no additional "i." Sounds like she may live to regret that."
"Ah", he adds, still mischievously, "the regrets of living without Rimi! The world is in sympathy with us".
He's lucky I've always found mischief delightfully endearing.

There was a girl in my African Novel class who, in boredom and contempt, chose to read the violently pink Perez Hilton site in class. At first, I thought it was a Paris Hilton parody or somesuch. BUt then of course, in equal boredom and contempt, I kinda got my cheap thrills reading over her shoulder. Her IMs are the stuff of Mean Girls. It was much, much more entertaining than I had ever expected. Ah the fall. The Horror.
Har har har. Now you're associated with Paris Hilton in my mind.
BTW the word verification says "stint". Ahem.
Diviani--ironically, I am yet to see the Perez Hilton site (I just copy-pasted the link) and yes, when I saw the URL I thought it was a parody of Parish Hilton too. Great minds etc ;-)
Sue--you should be ashamed of yourself! Associating me with Parish Hilton! At least I have a waistline. In fact, I have two. Whereas she has a stick. And possibly half a brain. Hmph!
Ha Ha Rimi... I liked your response to Diviani more than your post!!! LOL!!!
Rimi pianti sounds like pig sanskrit for "Rimi is drinking" - Just saying...
don't have to remind your readers that you are in "boston" consistently by mentioning it in every post. It can be my "buddy" instead of "boston buddy"... -> lest someone thought it was your "para" friend? C'mon!
I see you have a hater, Nundy. Ass kick korbo?
----------
@desk - "hate" is too intense a word for my comment... it was just a spontaneous response which I felt while starting to read through her latest post.
As a regular reader of Rimi’s blog, I find her to be an articulate and entertaining writer. I am sure (or I hope atleast) she will not take my comment in the same vein as you have. An artist should always lend an ear to his/her criticism (no matter how trivial it may be!)
So no, I don’t “hate” Rimi and amar ass kick kortte hobe na! Chill!

Children, children. Tsk.
Anonymous--clearly you've not understood the centrality of "Boston buddy" to the post, and this very fact makes me kindly disposed towards you.
Desk--hush, child. Be nice. But thank you for your immediate and gallant offer of defence. Have a cookie :-)
The rest:
Dewdrop--thank you :-)
Urmi--shush, you! Din-ke-din brat hoye jachho.
Hee hee :D
May 2nd: "I live in the Greater Boston Area"
May 11th: "...to our dorm from the local Mexican and Indian/Pakistani hub, Moody Street"
May 13th: "...Rimi at Davis Square café"

I know I know... you are in BOSTON and you hate it ! (as if!)
quick! somebody! anon needs a life!
Bob has a blog! Yay!
And anon is an Indian student who lives (and pays his way through post-graduate degrees) in Australia. Given the current situation, he might indeed soon need a life, and unfortunately I mean that literally. We must all understand his plight and extend our sympathies to him.
(Waits for anon to hotly refute all of above. Life's little pleasures)
Oh wow Rimi .Anon's busy researching your posts . Is Anon on a grant ?
touche!
of course Indian students in australia are lesser in so many ways than their counterparts in america ...
Rimi wins (will she have it any other way?)... @desk, arundhati & eve - rejoice and bask in your glorious snobbery!
:P
maybe i should come here more often. He sounds *giggle* nice!
"always found micheif delightfully endearing".........now that sounds really exciting
nice blog...
Rimi always wins, as usual... even though Davis Sq. is marginally better than central sq. where you have to elbow hobos to get a cup of tea at the Au Bon Pain...
I am waiting to read on your adventures in Harvard Sq. with pay to play chess hustlers...
